Brianna Moua Struck and Killed by Car in Pedestrian Collision at Carolyn Weston Boulevard and Ishi Goto Street in Stockton

Child critically injured in pedestrian-car accident

A child that was struck and killed in a pedestrian car accident in Stockton was recently identified as Brianna Moua, a 9-year-old girl who was killed while crossing the street on Tuesday afternoon on her way home from school, according to an update from KCRA News.

Authorities were able to identify the girl who was so tragically lost after a fatal collision with a vehicle at the intersection of Carolyn Weston Bouelvard and Ishi Goto Street in Stockton.  Her name was Brianna Moua, and she was only nine years old, said the article.

A candlelight vigil was held on Thursday night following the incident in memory of the victim, and hundreds of family members, friends and acquaintances made their way to pay their respects to the family.

Brianna Moua was the 9-year-old victim who suffered critical injuries after being struck by a car, previously reported in another article, where authorities responded to the incident at about 3:40 p.m. at the intersection of Carolyn Weston Blvd and Ishi Goto St where they discovered a girl down in the roadway.

First respondents treated the girl and deemed her critically injured before paramedics arrived and transported the injured victim to UC Davis Medical Center via airlift, said police.

Additionally, police reported that the girl was crossing the street when she was hit, although there was no clear indication of whether she was walking in a crosswalk or not.  Furthermore, it was unclear from the article if the driver at fault remained at the scene of the incident or if they fled.

Currently, this crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the exact cause and liable party in the crash.
