Two  killed, four others injured after deadly traffic accident in Lancaster

Yovany Yosair Salazar Calzada and Virginia Martinez were pronounced dead after a fatal car accident that took place at East Avenue J-8 and 10th Street East in Lancaster, along with one other unnamed victim, said a local news article.

On Thursday just after noon, the accident occurred at the intersection.  Sources say that a silver four-door sedan that was headed east on Avenue J-8 overturned after crashing with a blue vehicle that was traveling north on 10th Street East.

As a result, Lancaster residents identified as Yovany Yosair Salazar Calzada, 23, and Virginia Martinez, 61, were pronounced dead at the scene.  A third woman also died in the resulting traffic collision, however her name was withheld from the report, pending the notification of next-of-kin.

Additionally, four other people were transported to a local hospital, said a fire department official.  It was reported that all of the deceased victims were occupants inside the blue sedan, said officials.

Moreover, four men inside the overturned car sustained injuries, but they are believed to survive, said the news article.

Currently, this incident is under review in an ongoing investigation by the authorities, and further details will be reviewed and released to the public as it is determined.
