Distracted Driver Causes Major Injuries After Crashing in Oak Park

According to a recent press release from the San Diego Union Tribune, there was a pedestrian-vehicle accident that occurred in Oak Park at the intersection of Redwood Street and Sue Street.

Reports confirm that the accident occurred around 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday, February 7th, 2017.  Per the source, a 29-year-old driver was preoccupied with his car radio as he drove westbound on Redwood Street toward Sue Street, where the two pedestrians were walking south.

San Diego Police responded to the incident afterwards and investigated the traffic collision.  Reportedly, the 76-year-old woman suffered serious injuries.  She as well as the 12-year-old boy were taken to a local hospital to be treated for their injuries.  The police have yet to state the extent of the boy’s injuries.
