Victim passes away in the hospital following deadly car crash on Bernal Road

A woman hospitalized following a deadly car crash last month on Highway 101 at Bernal Road involving alleged drunk driver Elizabeth Marie Armendariz recently passed away due to her injuries on February 28th, according to a local news report.

The initial collision took place at about 9:56 p.m. on Sunday, February 4th, 2018 when a woman driving a white 2018 Toyota RAV4 traveling northbound along Highway 101 before she was struck by a black 2013 Hyundai that was being driven by Elizabeth Marie Armendariz, a 53-year-old San Jose resident who ran a red light while driving drunk.

Paramedics transported the victim to a hospital where her critical condition was being treated.  On February 28th, the victim was pronounced dead, said officials.

Currently, this crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the exact cause and liable party in the crash.
