Bakersfield Police Department searching for hit-and-run driver after collision

According to an article from BakersfieldNow, a woman was severely injured after being hit by a car that fled the scene just before 2:40 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018 at the intersection of 4th and P Streets in central Bakersfield.

The report stated that the accident occurred just before 2:40 a.m. when officers arrived for a collision in the mentioned intersection.  Upon arrival, officials said, authorities found a woman “severely injured” after being hit by a car.

According to witness statements, a white vehicle was spotted leaving the scene on 4th Street, traveling eastbound toward Union Avenue after the collision occurred.

The victim’s name was not mentioned in the article, pending the notification of family.

Currently, this crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the exact cause and liable party in the crash.
