Vehicle collided with the Metro Expo Line Train in Santa Monica
According to a news report from onscene.tv, on Wednesday, April 18th 2018, at about 12:20 a.m., at least four people were injured ensuing a traffic collision involving an SUV and the Metro Expo Line Train on the intersection of Colorado Avenue and Lincoln Boulevard in the city of Santa Monica.
Moreover, the report stated that a black KIA SUV collided with the Metro Expo Line Train that was traveling westbound on Colorado Ave. Additionally, the KIA came to a complete stop parallel with the train, as stated by officials.
The train track and the intersection of Colorado Ave and Lincoln Blvd was shut down for more than six hours as authorities worked to clear the accident and a tow truck was required for the SUV, as stated by authorities.
Furthermore, the SUV had three occupants and were required to be extricated by Firefighters and were transported to UCLA Trauma Center in Westwood by paramedics in serious conditions, according to authorities. In addition, authorities stated that there was at least one person from the train that was injured and was transported to UCLA-Santa Monica Hospital.
Currently, this crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the exact cause and liable party in the crash.
