At least one person hospitalized ensuing car accident on the 101 Freeway west of Van Nuys Blvd in Sherman Oaks

As mentioned in a California Highway Patrol police report, on Tuesday, April 3rd 2018, at about 9:52 a.m. at least one person was injured as a result of a traffic collision that took place on the 101 Highway, just west of Van Nuys Boulevard in the city of Sherman Oaks.

Furthermore, authorities reported that a red Chevy Camaro and a black Chevy Cruz were traveling westbound on US-101 when the collision occurred.  The accident caused major damage to the Camaro and left it smoking, according to CHP.

In addition, it is unclear how many people were injured, however at least one person was transported to a nearby hospital by paramedics.  Authorities have not yet released any additional information on the injured party.

Currently, this incident is undergoing review by officials as they work to determine the exact cause and liable party of the collision.  Further details will be available at a later time once the investigation has concluded.
