Two-Vehicle Collision on WB SR-60 Freeway near Paramount Blvd. in Monterey Park Injures At Least One Person

At least one injured after a car crash ensuing a street race on State Route 60 near Paramount Blvd. in Monterey Park

According to California Highway Patrol report, on Friday evening, April 20th, 2018, at approximately 7:42 pm, at least one person was injured following a car collision on westbound SR-60 just west of Paramount Blvd. in Monterey Park involving two vehicles.

In addition, the two vehicles, identified as a black Maserati and a grey Nissan Quest, were involved in a high-speed street race prior to the accident. Authorities speculated that the street race was most likely the cause of the accident.

Several lanes of traffic were blocked as authorities worked to clear the accident and a tow truck was required for the vehicles involved in the accident. Authorities stated that the grey Nissan Quest and black Maserati were later moved to the roadside, where the Maserati laid overturned facing westward.

In addition, it is unclear how many were injured, but at least one person was transported to a nearby hospital by medical personnel. Authorities have not yet released any information on the injured party at this time.

Currently, this crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the exact cause and liable party in the crash.
