2 People hurt following semi-truck crash on Highway 138 offramp
On Tuesday, March 6, two people suffered serious injuries after a big rig truck accident occurred in Cajon Pass on the I-15 Freeway by the Highway 138 off-ramp, according to a local news report.
The accident occurred at about 8:02 a.m. on Tuesday on Highway 138 offramp of the 15 Freeway, said officials. A semi-truck went off the road on the Highway 138 offramp, although authorities were not able to conclude why.
The truck rolled over as a result and crashed into an SUV before coming to rest by a backup generator by a nearby Shell gas station, said officials.
Furthermore, emergency respondents arrived at the scene and were able to treat the victims, who were located trapped inside the wreckage of the accident. They were freed using the jaws of life and were shortly after transported to a local hospital for treatment of their major injuries.
Currently, this incident is under review in an ongoing investigation by the authorities, and further details will be reviewed and released to the public as it is determined.
