Giovanna Dominguez survives fatal crash that leaves two dead near Miramar Road

Two men were killed, and two others were injured after a major car accident took place on the I-15 Freeway involving a suspected drunk driver identified as Jeffrey Brian Levi, according to a recent local news article.

As mentioned in the article, authorities arrested the man believed to be at fault, 37-year-old Jeffrey Brian Levi, on suspicion of murder and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.

Officers responded to the incident just after 11:45 p.m. where a Ford Mustang reportedly speeding through traffic lanes crashed into the back of a Toyota Corolla near the Miramar Road exit of the I-15 freeway.

As a result, the Toyota spun out of control and crashed into the center divider where it blocked the fast lane.  Moreover, the article reports, a Ford Explorer driven by a San Diego police sergeant struck the Toyota shortly after.

The SUV ended up on its roof and the Toyota vehicle was engulfed in flames, authorities stated.

Drivers passing by were able to stop and help one 18-year-old Riverside woman out of the vehicle, although they could not help the driver and backseat passenger out of the car.  According to the article, those two men died as a result.

The woman was identified as Giovanna Dominguez.  She suffered major injuries and was transported to a local hospital along with the male police sergeant.

Furthermore, the two men who died were identified as David Dominguez, 33, and Isaac Felix, 18.  They were the woman’s brother and boyfriend, respectively.

The driver who caused the car accident fled the scene after abandoning his Ford Mustang, which ended up in a ditch further along the freeway.

San Diego Police located the suspect and jailed the driver.  He was identified as Jeffrey Brian Levi, 37.

Currently, this incident is under review in an ongoing investigation by the authorities, and further details will be reviewed and released to the public as it is determined.
