Two SUVs collide on roadway, injuring seven teenagers as well as a mother and her two children

According to an article from ABC 10 News, there was an incident in which 10 people were injured after a two-vehicle car collision occurred in an unincorporated area of Elfin Forest.

As mentioned in the article, two SUVs collided at the intersection of Elfin Forest Road and Harmony Grove Road near Escondido on Tuesday.

The article cites that seven teenagers occupying an SUV had rolled over on its side at the intersection before a second SUV, driven by a mother, crashed into it.

Rancho Santa Fe, Encinitas, Escondido, and San Marcos fire departments responded to the incident as well as California Highway Patrol, the article said.

Ten people were injured as a result and required transportation to nearby medical facilities in order to treat their injuries, ranging from moderate to critical, said officials.

Furthermore, it was mentioned that no one required extrication from their vehicles.

The California Highway Patrol had to close the road, reportedly, in both directions while crews assisted those who were injured.

Currently, the cause and liability of the crash has not yet been identified, although California Highway Patrol has taken over the investigation and will report their findings once the investigation is over.

From our office, we sincerely extend our deepest condolences to all those affected and hope that they may recover swiftly.
