15-year-old bicyclist struck in dimly-lit area by hit-and-run driver

According to a recent report from the California Highway Patrol, a hit-and-run accident left a 15-year-old bicyclist dead at the intersection of El Centro and Radio Roads in Natomas.

As mentioned in the report, the accident took place on El Centro Road when 15-year-old boys were riding their bicycles.

Suddenly, a motorist struck one of them at reportedly 100 miles per hour according to witnesses.  The vehicle was described as a late-model blue sedan, sources said.

One teenager was killed as a result and pronounced dead by paramedics after they arrived.

The other teenager remained unharmed from the accident, said authorities.

No names were mentioned in the report pending the notification of family.

Currently, this crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the exact cause and liable party in the crash.

Further details will be reported at a later time once the investigation has concluded.
