Lincoln High School student killed in Stockton crash, driver arrested on Friday in connection to fatal collision

According to local news station KCRA, there was a driver who was arrested on Friday after a car accident took the life of a Lincoln High School senior on Pacific Avenue near Weberstown Mall in Stockton.

The unidentified teen, a senior football player, was found by authorities, who pronounced the man dead at the scene.  Two others, including the driver who was arrested, were injured in the crash as well, according to the article.

Anthony Calderon, the 31-year-old driver involved in the crash, was accused of driving under the influence, sources said.

The accident occurred at about 2:20 p.m. near Delta College and Weberstown Mall when a black Infiniti crashed into the passenger side of a white BMW, critically injuring the teenager, who was a passenger inside the BMW.

Furthermore, the driver of the BMW and Calderon, the driver of the Infiniti, were injured and transported to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.  It was unclear from the report the severity of the injuries.

Authorities arrested Calderon several hours later, booking the man into San Joaquin County Jail on felony DUI charges after being released from the medical facility, said sources.

Currently, this crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the exact cause and liable party in the crash.

Further details will be reported at a later time once the investigation has concluded.
