Susan Williams Killed and At Least Three People Injured in a Six-Vehicle Collision on Lakeville Highway and S McDowell Boulevard in Petaluma

Marine Biologist instructor in UC Davis Bodega Marine Laboratory killed in a multi-vehicle accident in Petaluma

According to a news report from The Press Democrat, on Tuesday, April 24th 2018, at about 7:15 a.m., one person was killed and at least three people were injured ensuing a traffic collision involving several vehicles on Lakeville Highway and S McDowell Boulevard in the city of Petaluma.

In addition, the report stated that a Chevrolet Silverado, a Honda Accord, a Toyota Prius, a Mercedes SUV, a pick-up truck and a blue sedan were the vehicles involved in the traffic collision.

Initially, a 19-year-old driver of a Chevy Silverado crossed double yellow lines and drove into oncoming traffic colliding with 66-year-old Susan Williams driving a Toyota Prius and then a Honda Accord, according to authorities. Additionally, the Chevy Silverado hit the pick-up truck’s side mirror in front of her causing the truck to flip over in the middle of the road and then hit the front of Suzana Weltken’s Mercedes SUV, which then struck the blue sedan in the adjoining lane, sending it spiraling across the road and into a field, as stated by officials.

Several lanes of traffic were blocked as authorities worked to clear the accident and a tow truck was required for the vehicles involved in the accident, according to authorities.

Moreover, 66-year-old Susan Williams, a Marine Biologist instructor in UC Davis Bodega Marine Laboratory was pronounce dead at the scene, according to officials.

Furthermore, it is unclear how many were injured, but at least three people were transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital by paramedics and authorities have not yet released any information on the injured parties at this time.
