3 critically injured after SUV driver runs through a stop sign

Six people were injured after an Uber-related car accident took place on Monday in the 7400 block of W. Melrose Avenue in Hollywood, Los Angeles, according to a local news article.

As mentioned in the article, the traffic collision took place at about 6:00 a.m. when authorities responded to the collision.

According to the article, a Mercedes SUV traveled south on Vista Street at a high rate of speed and ran a stop sign before broadsiding a Toyota Prius.

Additionally, the article mentioned that the the Prius was being driven by an Uber driver who was transporting three passengers.

Moreover, the accident caused the driver and victims inside the Prius to be trapped inside, and as a result, two tow truck drivers and nearby witnesses helped to extricate the trapped occupants.

Allegedly, witnesses claimed that the driver in the SUV attempted to flee the scene, although he was chased and tackled by several good Samaritans.

As a result, six people were hospitalized, with three of them listed in severe, critical condition.

Furthermore, the suspect was arrested and is currently facing multiple charges.  Further news of this accident will be reported at a later time once the investigation has concluded.
