Ryan Folsom, former BYU running back killed in head-on crash

A former BYU football player named Ryan Folsom died in a fatal head-on car accident involving 28-year-old Grace Elizabeth Ward on the Interstate 5 Freeway near Anderson, CA last Sunday, according to a KSL news article.

Reportedly, the 29-year-old from San Antonio, Texas, was traveling on the I-5 Freeway near Redding, California, when another driver, identified as 28-year-old Grace Elizabeth Ward, crashed into a center divider before crashing into the Texas resident’s own Honda Accord, said officials.

As a result, Folsom was transported to a nearby hospital where he shortly after died as a result of his injuries, said the news article.

Authorities state that Ward, who sustained a broken leg injury, may have been dealing with suicidal thoughts at the time of the car accident.

Additionally, a GoFundMe page has been set up in Folsom’s name.

Currently, this incident is under review in an ongoing investigation by the authorities, and further details will be reviewed and released to the public as it is determined.
