Car accident on the intersection of Hawthorne Blvd and 179th St in Redondo Beach hospitalized pedestrian

According to an article from My News LA, on Monday, March 12th 2018, at about 8:00 p.m. a pedestrian was injured after being struck by a vehicle on the intersection of 179th Street and Hawthorne Boulevard in Redondo Beach.

The accident occurred at about 8:00 p.m. on Monday evening at the intersection of Hawthorne Boulevard and 179th Street, reported Sgt. Ronald Harris of the Torrance Police Department.  When officers arrived at the scene, they located the unidentified body in the area, but there was no other driver reportedly at the scene at the time.

Paramedics arrived and transported the pedestrian to a local hospital.  The victim’s identity was not released in the news report, nor was their gender and age.

Additionally, the scene of the accident was closed and blocked off to the public until around 11:00 p.m., reported the news.

Currently, this incident is under review in an ongoing investigation by the authorities, and further details will be reviewed and released to the public as it is determined.
