Pedestrian struck and killed in deadly hit-and-run

A pedestrian was struck and injured in Los Angeles on Monday night at the intersection of Normandie Avenue and Adams Boulevard in a hit-and-run traffic accident, according to a news report from OnsceneTV.

According to the report, the accident occurred at about 11:30 p.m. on Monday night, February 26th.  Emergency responders as well as Los Angeles Police arrived at the scene and found the body of a pedestrian on the ground in the crosswalk.

Sources state that the pedestrian was struck while attempting to cross the street, and the driver fled the scene immediately afterwards.

Moreover, paramedics arrived and transported the injured victim to a local hospital to treat their injuries.  There was no description of the suspect driver or vehicle available from the news report.  The name of the victim was also withheld from the report pending the notification of family.

Currently, this crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the exact cause and liable party in the crash.
