Authorities still looking for suspected truck related to pedestrian collision

A man is being treated at the hospital with serious injuries after being struck and hit by a truck on Saturday night while he was crossing the street on Olive Avenue in the Tower District of Fresno, according to a local news article from the Fresno Bee.

As mentioned in the article, the accident occurred on Saturday night at around 9:45 p.m. when a man was walking north across Olive Avenue in the Tower District.  The article said a white mid-size pickup truck struck and injured the pedestrian before leaving the scene, driving westbound on Olive Avenue.

Fresno Police Lt. Jennifer Horsford stated that officers found the man in the road shortly after and emergency respondents arrived on scene to transport the injured pedestrian to a local hospital in what was described as “serious condition.”

Authorities say the suspected truck that fled the scene may have front end damage.

Currently, this crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the exact cause and liable party in the crash.

Further details will be reported at a later time once the investigation has concluded.
