Bicyclist struck in the head by side mirror

According to a press release from the Victor Valley News Group, a man identified as 47-year-old Ryan Dennis Angus was killed after being struck by a car while riding his bicycle along Ranchero Road near Lassen Street last Friday night.

Per the article, the accident occurred at about 8:27 p.m. when Ryan Angus was riding his bike on Ranchero Road.

A truck going westbound struck him shortly after, and Angus was hit in the head by the side-view mirror of the passing truck from behind, authorities stated.

The victim was then flown to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead on Saturday, the morning after at about 10:00 a.m., said officials.

Immediately after the incident, authorities stated that the driver of the utility pickup truck remained behind and cooperated with authorities at the scene.
