A pedestrian was fatally struck by a car on the Interstate 805 south of Kearny Villa Rd in Serra Mesa
According to a local news article by the San Diego Patch, around 4:45 a.m. on Tuesday morning May 1st 2018 an unidentified woman was struck and killed by a car on Interstate 805, just south of Kearny Villa Road in the city of Serra Mesa.
The accident took place on the northbound side of the 805 freeway just south of Kearny Villa Road, as reported by the California Highway Patrol. The victim was walking on the northbound freeway when she was hit by a Nissan Versa and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, a 22-year-old woman from San Diego, was uninjured during the accident, as reported by the San Diego Patch. This is the second fatality to occur on the San Diego freeway in less than six hours. Around 11 p.m. on Monday April 30 2018, a man was killed during a hit-and-run while walking on the westbound SR-94 in the Golden Hills area.
Currently, this incident is under review in an ongoing investigation by the authorities, and further details will be reviewed and released to the public as it is determined.
