Officers found victim on the pavement unresponsive in fatal accident in South of Market neighborhood

According to an article from CBS Local San Francisco, there was a deadly collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian in the city’s South of Market neighborhood on Friday morning, leaving one person dead.

At about 8:15 a.m., authorities responded to a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian at the intersection of Dore and Brannan Streets.

According to the article, San Francisco Police Department officers arrived at the scene of the accident and located a victim on the pavement, unresponsive.  Authorities pronounced the victim dead at the scene shortly after.  Currently, the name of the victim has not yet been identified by police.

Furthermore, the driver remained at the scene and was cooperative with the police, who said at this point, they have only identified that vehicle as being involved, “but the investigation is ongoing.”

Currently, this crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the exact cause and liable party in the crash.

Further details will be reported at a later time once the investigation has concluded.
