Los Angeles detectives searching for hit-and-run suspect in fatal accident

According to an article from ABC 7, there was a fatal accident in which a pedestrian was struck and killed in a marked crosswalk last Wednesday night by a hit-and-run driver.  

The accident occurred at around 8:25 p.m. on Aug. 30 at the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and Federal Avenue in West Los Angeles when a woman was believed to be crossing a marked crosswalk.

A driver was traveling eastbound on Wilshire at the same time and struck the woman in her 50’s.  Reportedly, the driver fled the scene without helping the injured woman.

Additionally, it was stated that the victim’s identity was withheld from the report, pending the notification of next-of-kin.

Furthermore, the LAPD is searching for any information regarding the offender’s identity and apprehension.

Currently, this crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the exact cause and liable party in the crash.
