Pedestrian struck by Santa Teresa-bound train near Mineta San Jose International Airport

Dieu Vuong, of San Jose, was killed by a light-rail train at North First and East Rosemary streets near Mineta San Jose Int’l Airport on Tuesday, according to a news report from Mercury News.

On Tuesday, there was a 78-year-old man reportedly killed in a fatal collision with a train at North First and East Rosemary Streets, close to the Mineta San Jose International Airport.

Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroners officials were able to identify the vicitm as Dieu Vuong, a San Jose resident on Wednesday.

Additionally, it was mentioned that it was not immediately known how the man was found to be on the tracks.  Officials stated that roughly 100 passengers were on board during the collision and were moved to a different train, and passengers were transported by shuttle to other stations for the rest of the evening.

Currently, this crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the exact cause and liable party in the crash.
