Faafiu Faafiu, Jr. arrested after drug-or-alcohol-related car accident Thursday night

Faafiu Faafiu Jr. is arrested after a car crash on the freeway on-ramp from Glen Cove Road in Vallejo that left his passenger dead last Thursday night, according to an article from the Times-Herald News.

As mentioned by the authorities, the driver identified as Faafiu Faafiu, Jr. of Oahu, Hawaii, drove his vehicle, a blue Land Rover Discovery onto an on-ramp to the eastbound Interstate 780 at Glen Cove Road at about 9:13 p.m.

Sources say the driver veered off of the roadway and went down an embankment, rolling the vehicle over several times before landing on its side.

As a result, Faafiu and his passenger were ejected from the vehicle as it rolled.  Allegedly, neither of the occupants were wearing their seat belts.

As per the article, the right front passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.  Their name was not mentioned in the article.  As for Faafiu, he sustained moderate injuries in the accident.

Additionally, Faafiu’s vehicle was then struck by a passing-by Chevrolet vehicle being driven by an 81-year-old resident of Benicia.  It was stated that he did not sustain any injuries.

In the aftermath, authorities arrested Faafiu under suspicion of felony DUI and felony manslaughter, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Currently, the traffic collision is being investigated by the authorities, and further information will be relayed at a later time.
