One person killed and one dog rescued after a car drove off of Pacific Coast Highway and fell into the ocean near Mugu Rock in Ventura County

One person was killed after a car plunged into the ocean after driving off Pacific Coast Highway in Ventura on Wednesday morning, according to Times-Herald News.

California Highway Patrol officials state that a dog was rescued from the submerged wreck and photos from the scene show the dog wrapped in blankets in the back of a different vehicle, according to sources. The owner of the dog is not currently known.

The victim of the crash has yet to be identified, according to the article.   Also, the cause of death of the victim has yet to be released.
