Alcohol possible contributing cause in fatal North County car accident
According to a recent article from the Times of San Diego, there was a fatal car accident in which one person was killed and three others were hospitalized at Valley Center Road just south of Harrah’s Resort in the Rincon Indian Reservation.
The accident occurred on Sunday early morning when a vehicle was found by authorities rolled off a sloped embankment at Valley Center Road, just south of Harrah’s Resort.
California Highway Patrol responded to the accident at about 1:29 a.m., the source said. Following them was NorthComm Fire Dispatch, Rincon Fire, Valley Center Fire, as well as the SDSO Valley Center.
Additionally, authorities believe the driver may have been driving under the influence at the time of the car accident.
It was unclear from the report who died as a result of the accident, as names were withheld from the article pending the notification of next-of-kin. It is unclear at this time the severity of the injuries of those who were hospitalized.
Reportedly, a District Attorney was called out in regards to criminal charges linked to the driver.
Currently, the crash remains under investigation and more information regarding the incident will be reported once the investigation has concluded.
