Car crash on Speedway and Wavecrest Court in Venice Beach kills one homeless man

According to a local news report, on Thursday, April 19th, 2018, around 1:30 am, a car collision occurred on Speedway and Wavecrest Court in Venice Beach killing one person.

As mentioned, the homeless man was lying on the ground in his sleeping bag when he was fatally struck by a vehicle, stated the authorities.

In addition, the vehicle was traveling the wrong way on Speedway when it struck the man, reported the police.

The vehicle involved in the collision did not stop after the collision, mentioned the report. Also, the vehicle sustained a rear-end damage after it backed into a wall while trying to flee the scene, article claimed.

It is unknown at this time if alcohol and or drugs were a factor in this incident.

Several lanes of traffic were blocked as authorities worked to clear the accident and a tow truck was required for the vehicles involved in the accident, as stated by authorities.

Currently, this crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the exact cause and liable party in the crash.
