One injured after a truck crash on northbound Interstate 15 near Temecula Parkway

According to onscene.tv, a man was injured Tuesday afternoon when a gust of wind whipped a truck across the northbound Interstate 15.

The California Highway Patrol stated that around 3:00 p.m., a truck was traveling in the number 4 lane on northbound Interstate 15 when a strong gust of wind hit the side of the truck and forced it across the lanes. The truck lost control after the impact and overturned. Another vehicle was hit by the overturned truck but sustained no casualties.

The truck came to a rest on the bridge for the Temecula Parkway overcrossing with part of its trailer hanging over the bridge, authorities report.

The sole occupant of the truck received minor injuries and refused to be ground transported to a nearby hospital.

Additionally, authorities shut down all northbound lanes of Interstate 15 and the Temecula Parkway crosses under the Interstate. All traffic was diverted off the Interstate at the Temecula Parkway exit.

It is unclear if alcohol, drugs or speeding were involved in the factor of the collision but the authorities have not ruled them out.

This collision remains under investigation and further details will be updated as they are available.
