San Diego County Probation Agent killed in a solo vehicle crash on Skyline Truck Trail east of Lawson Valley Road in Jamul

According to The San Diego Union-Tribune, a man was killed on Sunday evening after his car crashed on Skyline Truck Trail east of Lawson Valley Road in Jamul.

The California Highway Patrol officer said the driver lost control of his car and drifted off the road, striking a dirt embankment. Authorities believe the driver may have suffered a medical emergency before the crash occurred.

Officials identified the driver as Robert Cole, 51, and transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The California Highway Patrol Officer Kevin Pearlstein said it does not appear that drugs and alcohol was involved in the incident.

This collision remains under investigation and further details will be updated as they are available.
