Simon Hernandez Gonzales arrested on a charge of hit-and-run on Middlefield Road

According to Sfgate.com, a car hit a pedestrian crossing Middlefield Road just south of Flynn Avenue in San Mateo County Monday morning.

The accident was reported at about 2:25 a.m. when a pedestrian was crossing the street in an unincorporated area of Redwood City.  He was struck by a Ford Crown Victoria taxi heading south on Middlefield Road, said CHP.

Moreover, the driver of the car did not stop and continued on its way according to the California Highway Patrol.

Authorities have identified the suspect to be Simon Hernandez Gonzalez driving a Ford Crown Victoria taxi heading south on Middle field Road.

As stated in the article, Simon Hernandez Gonzalez was arrested several hours later at about 9:40 a.m.

Gonzalez was booked in San Mateo County Jail on$50,000 bail in Redwood City on suspicion of felony hit-and-run with injury, state the officials.

The victim is believed to have been homeless and has not yet been identified pending the notification of next-of-kin.
