Multi-Vehicle Traffic Collision Injures At Least One Person on WB Interstate 105 and Paramount Blvd. in South Gate

At least one injured in multi-vehicle collision on westbound I-105 and Paramount Blvd in South Gate

According to a California Highway Patrol police report, on Sunday, April 1st 2018, at about 1:59 p.m., at least one person was injured following a traffic collision involving several vehicles on the westbound I-105 Freeway just west of Paramount Blvd. and east of Garfield Ave.

In addition, the CHP report initially reported a two-vehicle collision between a black Toyota SUV and a blue Ford Fusion in the carpool lane, but was later changed to six vehicles involved. Changes later appended to the report included comments regarding another collision in the second and third lanes of the freeway. It is unclear from the police report if the two accidents were related or if one caused the other.

The carpool lane of traffic and the fifth lane was blocked as authorities worked to clear the accident scene and move vehicles involved to the side of the road while they waited for tow trucks to arrive.

There was at least one person injured as a result of the crash and paramedics arrived shortly after the incident occurred to transport the injured parties to a nearby medical facility. In addition, the identity of the injured person or persons has not been released yet, according to officials. It is also unknown whether or not there were passengers in the vehicles involved in the crash.

Currently, this crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the exact cause and liable party in the crash.
