Harley Davidson rider dies in deadly collision outside Los Banos
According to a recent article from the Merced Sun-Star, there was a deadly traffic accident that took place on the outskirts of Los Banos, leaving a 49-year-old man dead last Sunday night.
At about 8:30 p.m., the motorcyclist traveled southbound on Mercey Springs Road just north of Santa Fe Grad Road. The rider of the 2004 Harley Davidson suddenly drifted into the southbound lanes for unknown reasons, reported the article.
An oncoming vehicle then was caught in the path of the rider, and a crash ensued. As a result, the motorcyclist was thrown from his bike and reportedly suffered fatal injuries.
Furthermore, the article reports that two occupants inside the other vehicle sustained injuries from the accident, complaining of chest pains after the accident. From the article, it was unclear if the two occupants required hospitalization.
Additionally, authorities were able to identify the two people as 65-year-old Dolores Duran from Merced, and 66-year-old Diane Padilla from Atwater.
The identity of the motorcyclist killed in the collision remains withheld, pending the notification of next-of-kin.
Currently, this crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the exact cause and liable party in the crash.
