Motorcycle crashes with SUV in fatal accident

According to a news article from Los Angeles Daily News, there was a motorcycle collision in Castaic that left a man on a motorcycle dead.

The accident occurred at approximately 6:18 a.m. on Tuesday, sources said.  A motorcycle reportedly crashed with a Ford Explorer on Highway 126 at Chiquito Canyon Road.

Additionally, California Highway Patrol officers were able to identify the motorcyclist as a man in his 40’s, but his identity was not released publicly, pending the notification of next-of-kin.

Authorities pronounced the victim dead at 6:30 a.m. in the roadway.

Furthermore, according to the article, a SigAlert was issued at 6:35 a.m. for all eastbound lanes and the No. 1 lane in the westbound traffic.  It was unknown how long roadways were closed down as emergency crews cleared debris and conducted an initial investigation.
