Julia Ryan arrested after fatal car accident in Salinas

According to recent news, Julia Ryan was arrested on multiple charges including hit-and-run causing death in relation to a car crash that occurred on May 29th in which Michele Lightcap was killed.

As mentioned previously, Michele Lightcap was identified as the 44-year-old woman who was killed by a hit-and-run driver on West Blanco Road near Padre Drive in Salinas.

The accident occurred at about 8:45 p.m. when the female pedestrian was walking on the sidewalk.

Sources said that a red 2003 Chevy Silverado pickup truck struck the pedestrian, fatally injuring her before she fled the scene.

Authorities were able to locate Lightcap and transported her to Natividad Medical Center, where she was later declared dead, sources said.

Furthermore, California Highway Patrol officers were able to find the abandoned pickup truck on Highway 101 near Madeira Avenue, although they could not locate the suspect.

With enough evidence collected in their investigation, on Tuesday, Salinas detectives were able to arrest the 25-year-old Julia Ryan and booked into Monterey County Jail.  Sources said she was charged with driving with a suspended license, vehicular manslaughter, possession of metamphetamine and heroin, and finally, hit-and-run causing death.
