CHP determines fatal crash was drug-related, and driver is arrested after 20-year-old woman is killed

According to a local news article, a woman that was killed in a drug-related car crash on Highway 152 near Flanagan Road was identified as Maya Isabelle Thone of Pacifica.

As mentioned in the news report, 20-year-old Thone was identified as the passenger who died in a 2013 Nissan sedan that was involved in a fatal car wreck at about 6:00 p.m. on Highway 152 near Flanagan Road, said California Highway Patrol.

CHP identified the driver as Mukai Masayoshi, a 34-year-old San Jose resident.  He suffered major injuries and was transported by paramedics to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto for treatment.

According to the authorities, the driver was found to be driving under the influence of drugs in the collision, and consequently, Masayoshi has been arrested on suspicion of felony DUI.
