CHP suspects vehicle mechanical failure in fatal car accident on Sanderson Avenue

According to recent news from Onscenevideo.tv, there was a fatal car accident on N. Sanderson Avenue, also known as SR-79, near Gilman Springs Road in the area of Gilman Hot Springs on Friday morning in which at least one person was killed.

As mentioned in the article, the accident occurred at about 6:15 a.m. on Friday morning when a red sedan traveling northbound on SR-79 veered into the opposite lane and collided with a white pickup truck.

California Highway Patrol, Cal Fire, and Riverside County Fire responded to the traffic collision on Highway 79 and when they arrived on scene, the red sedan appeared to be split in half, sources said.  The truck was severely damaged.

Paramedics declared one person dead at the scene, and the driver suffered minor injuries, declared a CHP Officer.  He mentions in the video interview that mechanical failure is definitely not ruled out as a factor in the collision.

The identities of the injured people in the car collision were not mentioned, although it was stated that the deceased victim was a Hemet resident.

Clean-up crews cleared the roadway for one hour in the No. 1 lane and only one lane was open at about 8:15 a.m, the source reported.

Currently, the California Highway Patrol is handling the investigation and further details will be reported at a later time.
