Truck driver injured after vehicle collision on 15 Freeway and Carmel Road in San Diego
According to a local news report, on Wednesday morning, April 18th, 2018, around 5:30 am, a car collision occurred on 15 Freeway and Carmel Mountain Road in San Diego injuring at least one person.
In addition, the collision occurred on the northbound lanes of Interstate 15, near Carmel Mountain Road, stated the officials. Furthermore the two vehicles involved in the collision were identified as a Sadie Rose Bakery truck and a big rig, mentioned the report.
As mentioned, the driver of the bakery truck was stuck inside the vehicle after the collision, authorities reported.
Moreover, the emergency personnel arrived on the scene and worked to free the driver, whose legs became stuck in the trucks damaged cab, reported the officials.
It is unknown at this time if alcohol and or drugs were a factor in this incident.
Several lanes of traffic were blocked as authorities worked to clear the accident and a tow truck was required for the vehicles involved in the accident, as stated by authorities.
In addition, it is unclear how many were injured, but at least one person was transported to a nearby hospital by medical personnel. Authorities have not yet released any information on the injured party at this time.
Currently, this crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the exact cause and liable party in the crash.
