Multi-vehicle crash temporarily shuts down Interstate 80 at Berkeley Curve Friday afternoon

As stated in a police report by California Highway Patrol, on Friday, March 16th 2018, at about 12:07 p.m. at least one person was injured as a result of a car crash that took place on Interstate 80, At Berkeley Curve in the city of Emeryville.

Officials said that three cars were involved in the car accident that occurred Friday afternoon on the I-80 freeway carpool lane. Authorities, as stated by the report, discovered that the collision caused one of the cars to face the wrong way.

Oakland Fire Department and Paramedics were called onto the scene to assist with any injuries. It is unclear how many people were injured, however at least one person was transported to a near by hospital by paramedics.  Authorities have not yet released any information on the injured victim at this time.

Currently, this incident is undergoing review by authorities as they work to determine the exact cause and liable party of the collision.  Further details will be available at a later time once the investigation has concluded.
