Ohio resident struck and killed by Alum Rock-bound train

Krishna Erravelli struck and killed in light-train accident on North First Street and Component Drive in San Jose on Thursday, according to a news report from Mercury News.

As mentioned in the article, the collision occurred at about 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of North First Street and Component Drive when a Alum Rock-bound train struck the victim, said Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority officials.

Reportedly, authorities responded to the collision and paramedics transported Erravelli to a local hospital, where the victim died shortly after due to his serious injuries.

At least one of the twenty-five passengers on the train complained of chest pain and was also transported to a hospital afterwards.

Currently, this crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the exact cause and liable party in the crash.
