Hit-and-Run driver identified as Julissa Guzman in deadly collision

Kathryn Stokes was identified as the pedestrian who died after being hit by a blue 2002 Lincoln LS at Soquel Drive and Rosedale Avenue in Soquel, according to an article from KSBW.

As mentioned in the report, Kathryn Stokes was killed while walking across Soquel Drive near Rosedale Avenue after she was struck by a car on Saturday evening.

The vehicle was identified as a blue 2002 Lincoln LS, and some witnesses reportedly said that the driver was going “way too fast,” according to the article.

Additionally, the driver fled the scene after striking the 86-year-old woman, although the vehicle’s license plate was left behind at the scene of the accident.

However, authorities were able to locate the 21-year-old hit-and-run driver Julissa Guzman and took her into custody under suspicion of driving under the influence, hit-and-run, and vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, said officials.

Reportedly, the area in which Stokes was killed was the same area in which a bicyclist was killed in a car accident just last year.

Currently, the traffic collision is being investigated by the authorities, and further information will be relayed at a later time.
