10-year-old girl is hospitalized following a car crashing into a home

According to recent articles, there was a car crash in which a 10-year-old girl was injured after the vehicle crashed into her family home in Redlands on Occidental Drive.

As mentioned in reports, the accident occurred at about 7:00 a.m. in the 1600 block of Occidental Drive.

Authorities stated that a 20-year-old woman, who has yet to be identified, was driving a 1997 Mercury Mountaineer westbound on East San Bernardino Avenue before the driver lost control for unknown reasons and crashed her car into the house.

The car crashed through a bathroom, two bedrooms, and the back wall of the home before crashing through the backyard and into the master bedroom of another home in the 1600 block of Nathan Court, said the news.

Authorities were able to identify Julissa Strickland was the 10-year-old injured in the backyard.  She was discovered by her mother Monique Alonzo, and currently, Strickland is in the ICU at Loma Linda University Medical Center where she is recovering from her injured broken arm and leg.

Additionally, the female driver from Redlands is currently being investigated in this car accident, and further details will be reported once the authorities have concluded the investigation.
