Oceanside resident Ledesma was ejected after being struck by sedan in motorcycle crash
According to a local Oceanside news article, a motorcyclist identified as Jeremiah Ledesma was struck and killed after a deadly motorcycle accident that occurred on El Camino Real near Basel Street.
The accident occurred on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at about 5:40 p.m, reported the article.
The Oceanside Police Department responded to a collision between a motorcycle and a Toyota sedan that occurred on El Camino Real near Basesl Street.
The motorcyclist was only identified as a 36-year-old male. Emergency crews determined that the victim had a pulse although he was not breathing. The victim was transported to an area hospital shortly after, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries.
As said by the article, Jeremiah Ledesma was riding a Suzuki motorcycle southbound on El Camino Real just south of Fire Mountain Road. A 2006 Toyota sedan traveling northbound on El Camino Real suddenly made a U-turn directly in front of the motorcycle at the Basel Street intersection. As a direct result, the motorcycle struck the passenger side of the vehicle, causing the rider to be ejected, causing major injuries.
The investigation is ongoing and authorities will release more details at a later time.
