Female occupants in Corvette killed, man in critical condition

According to a recent news article from ABC7, there was a car crash that took the lives of two Orange County women and critically injured a man last Saturday morning on Jamboree Road between Main Street and Kelvin Avenue.

Irvine Police Department officers responded to the collision which occurred at about 2:20 a.m. on Jamboree Road between Main Street and Kelvin Avenue when the vehicle struck a fire hydrant.

When officers and firefighter-paramedics responded to the scene of the Irvine car crash, they found the two female occupants of the Chevrolet Corvette dead.  Authorities were able to identify the deceased victims as Jamie R. Lopez, 26, of Santa Ana, and Nancy A. Ortiz, 26, of Garden Grove, the source said.

Furthermore, the vehicle’s third occupant, an unidentified man, was found in critical condition.  Paramedics transported the surviving victim to a local hospital for treatment of injuries, the article mentioned.

The single-vehicle crash is currently being investigated by Irvine Police and further information will be relayed at a later time.  The cause of the crash is yet to be determined.
