El Dorado Hills boat ignited and injures five children on the Folsom Lake Marina

According to ccenterdispatch.com, on Sunday afternoon, five children under the age of fifteen have been injured at the Folsom Lake Marina in El Dorado Hills after a boat ignited an explosion from fuel vapors.

Approximately at 3:40 p.m. a man tried to start the engine of his 18-foot boat at the Folsom Lake Marina when it was ignited from the fuel vapors that was left over from a recent fill up.

Additionally, the ignition started a brief fire in the boat where the five children were moderately burned.

As a result, everyone on the boat jumped off and was helped to safety after the explosion, stated the officials.

All five children were treated for first and second degree burns according to officials.
