Kern County coroner’s office identified deceased passenger in semi-truck accident

According to a press update from BakersfieldNow, the 18-year-old victim in a collision last Monday was identified as Hunter Jillian Fixion Mauro.

Mauro was a victim in a semi-truck accident that took place on Monday between a big rig truck and a car on the 7500 block of District Boulevard.

The car that Mauro was in was traveling at about 70 miles per hour before the driver apparently lost control, said the article, and slammed into the rear of a big rig truck.

Afterwards, the car’s driver suffered moderate injuries and was transported to a hospital.  The passenger of the same vehicle, however, passed away on scene before being treated at a medical facility.

Currently, this crash remains under investigation until further notice and updates will be reported as they are given.
