DUI crash kills Guadalupe Esmeralda Perulero and leaves 4 others injured on South Mission Rd near Quail Knoll Rd in Fallbrook
According to an article from the San Diego Union-Tribune, on Sunday February 4th 2018, at about 1:10 a.m. a DUI crash killed 20-year-old Guadalupe Esmeralda Perulero and left four others injured on South Mission Road near Quail Knoll Road in the city of Fallbrook.
Furthermore, a 19-year-old man was driving a 1996 Saturn north on South Mission Rd when he lost control of the vehicle and drifted into oncoming traffic before crashing head-on with a 2007 Ford U-Haul truck, as mentioned in the article.
Additionally, Perulero was riding in the back seat of the 1996 Saturn when the collision occurred along with two other passengers a 17-year-old girl from Escondido and a 20-year-old man from Fallbrook.
Perulero died at the scene of the crash but the three others in the 1996 Saturn were taken to a near by hospital, as reported in the article. CHP said, none of the people riding in the Saturn appeared to be wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision.
However, the driver of the 2007 Ford U-Haul received minor injuries but was not taken to a hospital. Drugs or alcohol are suspected to be the cause of the accident but further details will be available once authorities bring their investigation to an end.
