Other driver suspected of being under the influence in crash between Stine Road and Ashe Road
According to a recent article from Bakersfieldnow.com, there was a car accident on Monday in which a driver identified as 25-year-old Francisco Javier De La Cruz was killed.
The accident occurred on Taft Highway last Sunday morning in south Bakersfield when Cruz, driving a black pickup truck, was struck by a silver sedan that swerved into the opposite lane, said sources.
Authorities cited that the driver of the silver sedan was driving under the influence, the report mentioned.
The driver and passenger of the sedan were moderately injured and were transported to a hospital for treatment.
Currently, authorities are investigating this car accident, and officials stated that neither drugs nor alcohol appear to be a factor for the driver of the pickup truck.
Additionally, the report offers that Taft Highway was closed between Stine Road and Ashe Road immediately afterwards.
Currently, this crash remains under investigation by the Bakersfield Police Department and new information will be reported after the investigation has concluded.
