Fred Lowe arrested on 5 different charges following the deadly car accident

According to a recent article from the Sacramento Bee, there was a major car crash on Saturday night, November 25th, in which four people were killed on the I-80 Freeway in the Bay Area.

The accident occurred at approximately 8:10 p.m. at San Pablo Dam Road on the I-80, according to sources.

The suspected hit-and-run driver, Fred Lowe, was driving a 1996 Mercedes E-Class when he crashed into a white Nissan sedan, causing the Nissan to crash over the center divider into opposing westbound lanes, colliding into three other vehicles, as a result.

Per the news article, authorities confirmed four people dead at the scene, and six others suffering from major injuries.  The driver fled the scene immediately before authorities arrived.

The authorities used witness-provided descriptions of the suspect vehicle and physical evidence and determined that the hit-and-run driver was involved in another hit-and-run that the Contra Costa sheriff responded to, according to the article.

As a result, Fred Lowe was arrested on five charges: “vehicle manslaughter while intoxicated; driving under the influence resulting in bodily injury; driving under the influence with a blood alcohol level over 0.08 percent; felony hit and run resulting in death or injury; and driving on a suspended license.”

None of the identities of the deceased parties were released subsequently.

Currently, this crash remains under investigation by the authorities and additional information will be reported at a later date.
