Four pedestrians sustain injuries after hit-and-run driver collides into them at Santa Rosa intersection
According to a local news article, a hit-and-run car accident occurred early morning Sunday near Fourth Street and Brookwood Avenue, leaving four pedestrians injured on a sidewalk in front of a restaurant. Jose Gil Ortiz-Ortiz was the 18-year-old driver who was subsequently arrested for felony DUI and a felony hit-and-run.
As mentioned in the news release, the accident occurred at just before 1:48 a.m., when Santa Rosa police responded to a hit-and-run collision near Fourth Street and Brookwood Avenue. Police was informed by witnesses that a Ford Explorer had crashed into multiple pedestrians on a sidewalk on the northwest corner of the intersection, right in front of an unspecified restaurant.
Additionally, it was mentioned that the vehicle was missing a rear tire and that it fled, heading southbound on Brookwood Avenue. Additionally, authorities state that the driver reportedly ran out of the vehicle after it came to a stop near Second Street.
